Research has shown that the most effective remediation of dyslexia occurs when a highly trained teacher uses a variety of multi-sensory, research based strategies to develop an individualized plan of support. At Education Therapy, LLC we use strategies based on the Orton-Gillingham methodologies including the Barton Reading and Spelling System and the Slingerland approach.
Academic Screening:
Identification of specific academic strengths and challenges using the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - Third Edition (WIAT-III) covering 8 areas specified by IDEA.

Music Therapy:
Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Research in music therapy supports its effectiveness in a wide variety of healthcare and educational settings. Music therapy interventions can be designed to:

Educational Therapy:
- Provide the specific individual instruction that schools and tutors cannot
- Develop and implement effective differentiated instructional plans may be utilized in the clinical, classroom, and home settings
- You and/or your student will strengthen specific areas of weakness in both academics and processing by learning skills and strategies taught with proven methodologies, experience, and understanding.
- Because of the individualized and customized approach, you and/or your student will make more progress in a much shorter time than he or she would ever be able to attain in a classroom.
- Provide references to another specialist if we feel that another person would better suit your needs. Since Educational Therapists work closely with other professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, behaviorists, and therapists, many other referrals are available.
- Provide personal support to find or create the optimal academic environment for you and your student.
- Work with students of all ages; Pre-Kinder through High School, post-secondary education, training, and beyond.

- Emotional support for the whole child and family
- A safe and non-judgmental atmosphere to foster honest expression and communication for all family members either individually or as a group
- Parental and family stress relief through improved communication, realistic behavior expectations, time management, organization, and support for siblings.

- You and your student's rights regarding school – including post-secondary education
- How to get started in the process

- How to get the services you &/or your student needs
- Review and explain diagnostic testing and results
- Help secure the services you or your student needs at school
- Generate letters on your behalf
- Support you through the process
- Review and explain paperwork
- Attend meetings with you
- Protect you and your student against misinformation
